Focus: GRC President and Founder

Sandy BendorfSandy Bendorf founded GoldRush Communications, Inc. (GRC) in January 2000 following a successful 17-year career in Silicon Valley working for some of the world’s largest technology companies, including Motorola and Hewlett-Packard. After managing numerous marketing and public relations agencies as a client, Sandy saw the opportunity for a communication agency that deeply understands client needs and that can provide both high-level strategy and meticulous execution. Within two years, GoldRush was among the 10 largest PR agencies in the Sacramento region (according to the Sacramento Business Journal).

Immediately before founding GoldRush, Sandy was director of corporate communication at Secure Computing, an internet security company, since acquired by McAfee. She also held marketing management positions at UB Networks (now Alcatel), HP and Motorola.

At GoldRush she has worked with numerous companies large and small, including Avaya, ioSafe, Q-Layer (acquired by Sun), Webcor, Silicon Access, Callisma, Phaethon Communications and Golden State Capital Network, among many others. In particular, Sandy and GoldRush have had a long relationship with HP ProCurve, for the last seven years helping to manage and grow strategic ProCurve marketing programs that include industry analyst relations, customer communication and customer references, channel newsletters, speaking and events. During this time ProCurve rose to the number-two enterprise networking market position (from number 11), and for the first time it was positioned in the Leaders quadrant in research and advisory firm Gartner Inc.’s Magic Quadrant Report for Enterprise LANs.

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in political science from San Jose State University. In her spare time, she enjoys running the trails of the Sierra foothills with her dogs, skiing the high Sierra in the winter and watching her daughter play competitive soccer year round. She is also an aspiring chef and active with the Slow Food movement.
